Menfolk Journeys
This podcast explores how different men from all walks of life wear the beautiful and confusing mantle of manhood.
Men can be knuckleheads in public life. But in private, if given the right questions and if they feel comfortable, men can also be thoughtful, reflective, and have deep conversations about their lives, big questions, and meaningful ideas.
We have great conversations with men just like us and from all walks of life, so we can learn from their personal stories and all get better together.

47. Josh and Overcoming the System
The Foster Care experience is referred to - by the kids who live it - as "The System." For the youth who are doing the best they can to live their life, The System can be filled with strangeness, uncertainty, and above all, the feeling like they lack any power or control over their own lives.
Josh went through The System, and at an incredibly vulnerable time, was homeless for half a year, living in the park while finishing up high school.
Yet, for all the obstacles thrown his way, he has managed to overcome and not just survive - but succeed.
He did the strongest thing of all - accept some help - and in doing so, managed to change the trajectory of his life. He managed to pay is way through college and is now launching himself into a successful young adulthood.
His is a journey of strength, courage, perseverance, and an indomitable belief that he can overcome any obstacles that come his way.
